Looking for a squirrel-deterring feeder? This one just may work for you.
Does it deter squirrels?
If you hang the feeder so that a squirrel can't grab with its hind legs and reach the feed ports with its front paws, yes.
Is it durable?
Yes, the pieces seem sturdy and the construction solid.
Any drawbacks?
The circular plastic ring falls off easily.
Although supposedly optional, the green ring seems to prevent an annoying problem.
Without it, larger birds spin the perches loose from the feeder, causing all perches to eventually fall.
Birds like finches still seem to perch precariously on the edge of the feed port, but it is annoying.
What's best?
The solid construction, the capacity, and the squirrel-deterring design are the best things about this feeder.
