Wildlife-Attracting Ideas for Small Spaces -- Part 1
Looking for some simple ideas to attract wildlife? Especially in small spaces?
Here are a few ideas to consider:
Ground-Level
For spaces like small landscape beds, concrete stoops, entrances, or small patios:
- A simple saucer, weighed down with a few stones
- A birdbath that resembles natural stone, like this Rocky Mountain Spring Bath
- An inexpensive
mesh platform feeder - A short pedestal birdbath
Use a Window

Self-Watering Windowbox, Bronze
Think about three different ways to use a window to attract wildlife.
- The window opening, via an in-window bird feeder
- The window surface via suction-cup feeders
- The window frame, via a bird feeder with spring-loaded dowels
- The window sill via a window box
Container Plants
At ground-level, at window level, or even hanging, you can attract wildlife with container plants. For added benefit, you can use a feeder designed to insert into containers or into the ground.
- A container with wildlife-attracting plants
- A hummingbird
stake feeder
- A sunflower stake feeder
- The decorative Cattail Stake Feeders
