A Reader Wonders, "How Can I Make Suet in the Form That I Want?"

Suet to Go High Energy Suet Basket
Want to make your own suet but you need to make it in a particular shape?
One of my readers asked where he could find suet molds of different sizes.
Suet Balls
If you want round suet balls, use a recipe that allows you to mold the resulting mix into a ball with your hands, then use or freeze.
Custom Suet Blocks
If you want a block of suet of a specific custom size, pour the mix into a 9x13 cake pan to the depth you want, usually around 1 1/2".
Once the mixture cools, you can cut it with a pizza cutter or knife into the sizes you want, then use or freeze.
Other Suet Forms
When a suet recipe reads "pour into forms", what's generally meant is the empty container from a store-bought suet block.
However, a form can be anything -- bake pans like a 9x13 cake pan, muffin pan, or bread pan, plastic containers like a margarine container or Tupperware, or even a Jello mold.
