A Look Back at 2008: Top Articles and In-House Awards
Before I dive in to news, profiles, and my new before-and-after series, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at 2008.
So, between stats from Google Analytics and my sole discretion, I've identified the best articles from 2008.
Enjoy the "award show"!
Most-Visited Award
The most-visited page here at the Wildlife Porch in 2008 was the article on "3 Plans to Build Your Own Winter Roost Box for Wild Birds". Also worth noting, the sequel article, "5 More Plans to Build Your Own Winter Roost Box for Birds", came in second.
Most-Visited, Unique Award
Google Analytics tracks page views and unique page views. Surprisingly -- to me at least -- the top four were different on each list. For unique page views, the award goes to
- 9 Stunning New Plant Varieties from the National Gardening Bureau
- Keep Squirrels Away from Your House
Most Captivating Award
People seemed to stick around the longest for the article, "The Basics of Feeding Wildlife on your Wildlife Porch ".
Landing Article Award
The article most people see when they first discover the site?
"Keep Squirrels Away from Your Wildlife Porch, Deck, or Backyard" (about feeders)
