3 Ways to Feed Wild Birds for the Christmas Holidays
Want to include wild birds in your holiday celebrations?
Try holiday wreaths, trees, or snowmen:
1. Christmas Tree
- Using a craft needle and thin twine, strand your mix of stale popcorn, cranberries, whole peanuts, pieces of cereal, or other berries and hang it around your favorite tree
- Hang ornaments like pine cone treats, ones made out of seed, red yarn bundles of dried seed heads, fruit chunks, or small baskets of mince pie made from suet
2. Snowman
For those of you with a little ground-level space, build a snowman and decorate it with seeds, seed heads, suet, pine cones, branches for arms, and more.
3. Wreaths and Garlands
Similar to the strand for a Christmas tree, the beginnings of a wreath or garland can be made by stringing some combination of dried fruit, popcorn, pine cones, and sprigs of holly or pine.
