- Hummingbirds are only found in the Americas, from Alaska to South America
- Butterflies range in size from the almost 12 inches of the Queen Alexandra's Birdwing (New Guinea) to the 1/8 inch of the Western Pygmy Blue of Africa
- Most birds, beyond owls and hawks, see more acutely than humans
- Groundhogs are the largest member of the squirrel family
- 365 species of squirrels in 7 families; 339 hummingbird species and more than 700 butterfly species in the Americas; and over 2000 bird species in Central and North America
- Squirrels take siestas in the afternoon
