4 Kinds of Birds Easy to Attract
New to attracting wildlife to your home? Think attracting wildlife to your small outdoor space or urban area may be hard?
These wild birds may be the easiest to attract to your porch, patio, deck, balcony, or backyard.
1. Sparrows

The house sparrow is arguably the most common bird at feeders across the United States. House sparrows like most birdseed, like safflower, millet, or black oil sunflower seed. They aren't picky about the type of bird feeder, either, eating the low-end junk birdseed (millet, cracked wheat, corn) as well as the quality stuff.
House sparrows are not really sparrows at all but part of the weaver finch family.
Other true sparrows like the chipping sparrow or song sparrow might also be seen at a feeder with millet and sunflower pieces.
2. Starlings

The European Starling eats insects, fruits, grains, seeds, and garbage. Providing almost any kind of bridseed or fruit in any feeder that accomodates larger birds will attract starlings.
3. Doves or Pigeons

If you live in an urban setting, you're probably already familiar with the pigeon, or rock dove, that eats birdseed like millet and safflower, table scraps, and bread. If you're in a suburban setting, you may attract mourning doves to a ground feeder supplied with some combination of safflower, millet, and cracked corn.
4. Finches

I enjoy finches the most of the four birds I've discussed. You may see house, Cassin's, or purple finches at your feeder, eating sunflower seed, or you may even see goldfinches. Finches like nyjer (thistle) seed most of all but are also fans of sunflower seed.
