For those of us with smaller outdoor areas, squirrels can either be entertaining in their antics at the feeders and in the trees or annoying in gobbling up bird food, flower bulbs, and more.

Annoying

While some of us may like to attract squirrels, others have considered why not to have squirrels.

If you are concerned about squirrels eating your wild bird food or your plants, know that keeping squirrels away from feeders and plants can be difficult but is possible. Entertaining

If you are entertained by squirrels, consider feeding them. Water will also attract squirrels -- try a bird bath, barrel pond, or other simple water source.
