7 Kinds of Edible Birdseed Ornaments and Decorations
What's a great gift for the wild bird lover you know?
I've listed 7 kinds of edible decorations and ornaments made of birdseed that make great gifts, along with examples.
1. Wreaths
These may look like traditional fall wreaths but are made with edible seeds and grain. The wreath may be a solid wreath like the Sunshine Wreath or a traditional wreath with a hole in the middle like the Songbird Wreath.
2. Medallions
Medallions are usually smaller than wreaths and look similar in shape to a round, stuffed pillow, like this Spring Medallion.
3. Edible Birdhouses and Other Structures
Another kind of edible birdseed decoration is shaped like a birdhouse. They come in a variety of styles and colors, but corn may be the most common style, like this Indian Corn House. This Edible Birdhouse, on the other hand, gives a little more sophisticated look.
Although more rare, you can find other edible structures, beyond the edible birdhouse. This kit makes an edible bird feeders in the shape of, well, a bird feeder.
4. Ornaments
Smaller versions of edible birdseed popular around Christmas and winter holidays are birdseed ornaments, like this package of Dragonfly and Flower Birdseed Ornaments.
5. Edible Bells
These are simple blends of seed and edible glue of some kind. Most are a mix of seed, like this smaller
Sunflower Seed Bell from Pine Tree Farms. However, you can fin bells just in black oil sunflower (Kaytee Sunflower Treat Bell
).
